Embarking on his odyssey at St. Hugo Bloomfield Hills, Saputo’s early days were marked by his prowess on the football field. From junior varsity to varsity, he showcased his athletic abilities and leadership qualities, earning the honor of being the football captain. His journey then took a fortuitous turn as he chose to step into the Marine Military Academy, a decision that would lay the foundation for his remarkable transformation.
It was at the Marine Military Academy that Saputo’s character was forged in the crucible of discipline and resilience. Graduating as the Honor Man of Platoon 101, a distinction achieved by a mere seven out of a staggering 700, Saputo’s journey serves as a living testament to the belief that the path to greatness demands not just talent but an unrelenting commitment to excellence.
After his time at the military academy, Saputo’s hunger for learning and accomplishment remained undiminished. Before earning his honors upon graduating from Birmingham Brother Rice High School, he readily embraced leadership responsibilities as Class President and Student Council Secretary. In the realm of athletics, the esteemed Al Fracassa entrusted him with overseeing the defense from the strong safety position—an experience that taught him valuable lessons in leadership both within and beyond the game.
Continuing his educational journey, Saputo graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder, a testament to his commitment to higher learning. However, it was his entry into the business world that truly marked the beginning of his transformative impact. In a remarkable display of entrepreneurial spirit, Saputo became the youngest approved McDonald’s franchisee at the age of 25 in 2005, a testament to his acumen and foresight.
Currently heralded as a top-performing McDonalds operator in Michigan, his stores operate in the top 1% out of 500 stores regionally and top 5% National out of 25,000+ stores. Saputo’s business acumen is evidenced by his undeniable results and his success in multiple ventures.
In 2010, he founded Royal Stag Properties, a venture that has grown to manage 14 award winning units. The evolution continued with Royal Stag Construction/Design in 2018, Yuba Vineyards in 2019, Royal Stag Preserve in 2020, and Royal Stag Aviation in 2022.

It’s been an incredible journey, and 2025 is shaping up to be a landmark year. At home, life is full. Anthony (11), Salvatore (9), and Giuliana (7) are thriving—each one full of energy, curiosity, and passion. Watching them grow into confident, capable young people is one of the greatest joys of my life. We’re looking forward to another Northern Michigan summer filled with beach days, hiking, waterskiing, and plenty of time spent with their friends—and our loyal dog, Cali.
TCLEG continues to be a major focus—and a source of pride. What started as a three-man board has grown into a powerful community with over 30 members, builders, and leaders—over $40,000 has been donated in 2024, with more to be given this year!
Each division of #theroyalstagofficial is charging forward into 2025 with purpose. We’ve assembled a strong, talented team and an expanding roster of subcontractors.
@royalstagproperties continues to host thousands each year, and we’ve just completed our newest vacation home—The Yuba Farmhouse—which we’re proud to share will be featured in the 2025 Parade of Homes.
@royalstagdesign is proud to be partnering with @g&co to design our rentals and spec homes.
@royalstagconstruction is currently working on three new builds, listed with @Donfedrigon and @Molly.buttleman, and dirtwork has officially started on our new winery and tasting room.
Our newest venture @royalweddingsmichigan is now open to member bookings, offering couples one-of-a-kind Northern Michigan wedding venues.
Over at @royalstagpreserve, we’re entering year four—two farms, 100s of acres, and new chukar hunts launching in 2025. New member signups open in May.
@royalstagaviation is entering its third year and is now partnered with Skydive TC.
@yubavineyards 128 acre estate has grown from 4 to 31 acres under vine, with a 5-acre expansion underway. Our online wine club launches soon, and the tasting room begins construction this summer, with estate wine sales starting on-site in 2026.

With pre-development underway, followed by construction from 2028 to 2030, the Royal Stag Club is set to be a private membership club nestled in the serene embrace of Traverse City, Michigan. With a commitment to redefining opulence, this exclusive private membership club will offer lavish accommodations, world-class cuisine, and a spectrum of 5-star amenities. The club is poised to become a place where members can leave behind the ordinary and fully embrace a world of sophistication and luxury in Northern Michigan, and is set to debut in 2026.
